Managed Microsoft 365 Security

Microsoft 365 security is not a one-time project.

Keep your Microsoft 365 environment aligned as identities, devices, applications, Microsoft recommendations, licensing, threats, and business requirements change. Shield provides recurring security oversight and hands-on remediation with direct access to a senior practitioner, not a generic help desk or outsourced SOC.

Assess → Remediate → Manage

Turn a security assessment into an operating security program.

A Microsoft 365 assessment identifies the gaps. Remediation closes the highest-priority issues. Managed Microsoft 365 Security keeps the environment from quietly drifting back out of alignment.

01

Baseline

Establish the tenant's current posture, licensing, exceptions, business requirements, and prioritized security roadmap.

02

Monitor

Review posture signals, configuration changes, identity controls, Microsoft recommendations, and emerging security concerns.

03

Improve

Use included engineering capacity for prioritized configuration changes, validation, documentation, and remediation.

04

Advise

Translate technical posture into a concise monthly view of risk, progress, exceptions, priorities, and decisions.

Managed Scope

Ongoing attention to the controls that change and matter.

Scope is aligned to the Microsoft capabilities the client licenses and actually uses. The service is designed around meaningful risk reduction, not maximizing a score.

Identity & Conditional Access

  • Authentication methods, MFA and passkey posture
  • Conditional Access policy review and drift
  • Privileged roles and administrative access
  • Guest and external identity considerations
  • Authentication registration and recovery controls

Security Posture

  • Microsoft Secure Score review and prioritization
  • Configuration drift and material control changes
  • New Microsoft recommendations and feature changes
  • Exceptions, compensating controls and ownership
  • Prioritized security improvement backlog

Defender & Email Security

  • Defender capabilities where licensed
  • Anti-phishing, anti-malware and mail-flow controls
  • Safe Links / Safe Attachments posture where available
  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC configuration review
  • High-risk forwarding and collaboration considerations

Devices, Apps & Data

  • Intune and device compliance posture where licensed
  • Endpoint security configuration considerations
  • Enterprise applications, consent and permissions
  • SharePoint/OneDrive external sharing posture
  • Purview labeling/DLP opportunities where in scope
Monthly Operating Rhythm

A repeatable security-management cycle.

01

Posture Review

Review relevant tenant posture, Secure Score movement, identity and security-control changes, open risks, and Microsoft developments.

02

Prioritized Remediation

Maintain a risk-ranked backlog and use included engineering time on agreed configuration improvements and validation.

03

Drift & Exception Review

Identify material configuration drift and revisit accepted risks, exclusions, temporary exceptions, and ownership.

04

Security Advisory

Direct access to a senior practitioner for Microsoft security decisions, planned changes, and emerging issues within the service scope.

05

Monthly Security Brief

A concise report covering posture, completed work, material findings, open risks, trends, and the next priorities.

06

Quarterly Roadmap Review

Step back from individual settings to review progress, business changes, licensing, larger initiatives, and the next quarter's roadmap.

Commercial Model

Senior security management without building another internal role.

Managed Microsoft 365 Security is a recurring advisory and engineering service. It is not a per-seat MSP bundle.

Starting at $2,000/month

Pricing is based on tenant size, licensing, complexity, scope, and the amount of included engineering capacity, not simply the number of users.

Initial baseline required

New managed clients begin with a Microsoft 365 security assessment or equivalent onboarding review so the service starts from a documented, prioritized baseline.

Included engineering

A defined monthly block of hands-on engineering is included for agreed security changes. Larger projects are scoped separately rather than hidden inside an unlimited-support promise.

Direct senior access

The value is continuity: the practitioner reviewing the posture understands the environment, roadmap, exceptions, and business context over time.

Clear Boundaries

What this service is, and is not.

Clear scope keeps the service focused on security outcomes and prevents it from becoming a traditional MSP engagement.

Included Focus

  • Microsoft 365 security posture management
  • Senior security advisory
  • Prioritized configuration remediation
  • Security configuration documentation
  • Recurring roadmap and risk review

Not a Help Desk

  • No end-user IT support
  • No desktop troubleshooting or general administration
  • No routine user provisioning service
  • No license resale requirement
  • No unlimited engineering

Not a 24×7 SOC

  • No promise of continuous alert monitoring
  • No 24×7 MDR replacement
  • No guaranteed emergency incident-response SLA unless separately contracted
  • MDR/SOC services can remain with the client's existing provider

Projects Stay Projects

  • Major Intune deployments
  • Large Purview/DLP implementations
  • Tenant migrations
  • Large-scale identity redesign
  • Incident response and recovery engagements
Who It's For

Best for organizations that have Microsoft 365, but not a dedicated Microsoft security owner.

Business Premium, E3 or E5 environments

Organizations that want to get more security value from capabilities they already license.

Lean IT teams

Teams that can operate Microsoft 365 but need deeper security ownership, prioritization, and implementation support.

Post-assessment organizations

Clients that have a roadmap but need consistent ownership so recommendations actually get implemented and stay implemented.

Growing or regulated businesses

Organizations facing customer assurance, cyber-insurance, compliance, board, or executive pressure to demonstrate stronger security governance.
